OSU Mobile Mammogram Service

 Sanctuary Community Action partners with Ohio State University Medical Center’s Mobile Mammography Unit to bring essential breast cancer screening directly to our community. This service makes it easier for women to receive mammograms close to home without traveling far, promoting early detection and better health outcomes.

Why Mammograms Matter

Mammograms are the most effective method for early detection of breast cancer, allowing treatment to begin when the cancer is most treatable. The OSU Mobile Mammography Unit removes barriers such as transportation and distance, making it easier for women to prioritize their health. 

How the Program Works

• Mammograms are offered twice a year - in February and November.  You must wait at least one year since your last mammogram to be eligible.  If you have used this service in the past, you will be contacted prior to your annual visit to confirm your interest and update your information.
• The mobile unit provides state-of-the-art mammography technology in a comfortable, private setting.
• Screenings detect early signs of breast cancer, often before symptoms appear, increasing chances for successful treatment.
• Insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, Region 6 Breast and Cervical Cancer Project (BCCP) funding, and private pay options are accepted to cover the cost of screening.
• New to the program?  Please contact SCA at least one month in advance to be scheduled for the next available screening.
