Lawn Care Program for Seniors
About the Program
Since 2008, Sanctuary Community Action has partnered with Step Above Lawn Care, a local Danville business, to deliver quality lawn mowing services to seniors living in the Danville and East Knox School districts. This program supports seniors who need assistance maintaining their lawns during the growing season.
Who We Serve
- Seniors aged 60 and older
- No income restrictions
- Residents of Danville and East Knox school districts within Knox County
How the Program Works
- Lawn mowing and weed eating services are provided from April 1 through the end of October.
- Step Above Lawn Care manages the mowing schedule and performs all lawn care visits.
- Each service appointment includes mowing the lawn and weed eating the mowed areas within a maximum of 45 minutes.
- Seniors register for the program through Sanctuary Community Action.
- Clients pay a copay directly to Step Above Lawn Care for each service.
- Sanctuary Community Action covers the remaining balance and is billed directly by Step Above Lawn Care.
