WIC

 Sanctuary Community Action partners with the Knox County Health Department to host the WIC Program each month in Danville. WIC provides free nutrition support, education, and healthy food benefits to eligible families with young children, helping ensure moms and little ones get the nourishment they need to grow strong and healthy. 

WIC is available to:

• Pregnant women
• New and breastfeeding mothers
• Infants and children up to age 5
• Residents of Knox County
   

Families must meet income guidelines, but the limits are very generous—many working families qualify and don’t realize it!

• Monthly benefits for healthy groceries, such as milk, fruits, vegetables, eggs, cereal, baby formula, and more
• Nutrition counseling and personalized education from caring staff
• Breastfeeding support and help from certified lactation counselors
• Referrals to health care providers and other services your family may need
